Privacy policy

Cookieless analytics

We count visits with our own analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and keeps no personal data. Your IP address is never stored. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, your visit is counted without a visitor hash.

No third-party tracking

There is no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code on this site, and so no cookie banner.

Forms stay separate

Anything you submit here, such as a startup application, is stored in a dedicated marketing database, apart from the Flowpane product.

Cookies on this site

Only this site sets cookies, and only these. Our own analytics sets none.

What our own analytics records

It runs without cookies and without consent because nothing it keeps can identify you. For each page view it records:

  • The page path, without any query string, and any utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign tags in the link you followed.
  • The name of the site that linked to us, never the full address.
  • Your country, as reported by our network provider, never your IP address.
  • Device type from the width of your screen, and your browser family, such as Firefox.
  • Clicks on links that leave this site, and page speed measurements (Core Web Vitals).
  • A visitor hash made from your IP address, your browser and a random value that changes every day. The random value is deleted after two days, so the hash cannot be traced back to you.

Bots are ignored. Records are deleted after 400 days.

Newsletter

Purpose
To send you the Flowpane newsletter, an occasional email about the public files that govern websites, if you ask for it.
Lawful basis
Your consent. You give it by confirming from the email we send when you sign up; until you confirm, nothing else is sent. We keep your address, any name you give, where you signed up, the wording you agreed to, when you confirmed, and a one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself.
Retention
While you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe we stop straight away and keep a record of it, so you are not emailed again by mistake. An unconfirmed signup link expires after 7 days. To have your details erased, use the contact form.
Unsubscribing
Every issue has a one-click unsubscribe link at the foot, and supports the unsubscribe button in email apps that show one. No sign-in is needed. You can also ask through the contact form.
