## What to have in place before launch

Most of these take minutes to get right and months to notice when they are wrong.

1. **robots.txt allows what you want found.** No staging Disallow: / left behind, and a Sitemap line that points at the live index.
2. **A sitemap that tells the truth.** Only live, canonical URLs, on the right host and protocol, with lastmod dates that mean something.
3. **security.txt with a date you will remember.** A real Contact, and an Expires under a year out. Renewing it is a calendar event, or a Flowpane check.
4. **A deliberate AI stance.** Decide which AI crawlers may read and train on your content, then make robots.txt and ai.txt say the same thing.
5. **llms.txt for the pages that matter.** A short, curated map for assistants, linking only to pages they are allowed to read.

## Questions

### Do I need to install anything?

No. Flowpane reads your public origin over HTTPS. You prove ownership once with a file, a DNS record, or a meta tag, and nothing else runs on your site.

### What does the Free plan include?

One site, every artefact scored, and a full check whenever you ask for one. Scheduled checks, reports, and the Deep Scan crawl start on Starter.

### I already use an SEO plugin. Is this the same thing?

No. On-page SEO plugins shape individual pages. Flowpane checks the site-level files around them, and whether those files agree with each other. The two are complementary.
